Jeffree Star Holiday (19') Mystery Boxes!

The infamous JEFFREE STAR MYSTERY BOXES ARE BACK!!!

BELIEVE IT OR NOT...These boxes have caused so many headaches, drama, and tears to the dedicated Jeffree fans. I will say I have been one of those fans who had LOST OUT on a Jeffree Star release. There has been a time I have had things ready to check out to be kicked off. I know the frustration, tears, and anger. Many who don't understand the love for makeup will roll their eyes and say, "It's just makeup." You're right, it is makeup, but it makes me happy and I enjoy collecting particular items for certain artists... and Jeffree is one of those people who I just follow. He is probably my top makeup creator.

He released a set of boxes during the Black Friday rush, each containing different worth and items. Many, if not all, were rare and are not to be made again. As a collector, I always try to get my hands on his boxes. I did not try for his Halloween collection because I was I had a feeling since he wasn't releasing a Christmas collection this year (because he made the Shane Dawson collection, his big launch this year) that he would do a mystery box. I was right!

As you can see the boxes are range in different price points with different items. I knew that I had to get my hands on the red Deluxe box ($100) no matter what I could experience on his website. These boxes actually would turn out to be a birthday gift for me... which I would welcome with open arms! :-)

THE JEFFREE WEBSITE DRAMA:

The short story of my purchase of these boxes happened on Thanksgiving. All of this happened minutes before entering a family member's home to sit down and enjoy a feast. I knew that it was to be released at 3 pm/EST my time which was happening in five minutes. I happened to be on his website at that time and saw he had already posted the items earlier than expected. I knew my chance was now or NEVER. I clicked the for Premium (white box) and Deluxe (red box) into my cart and proceeded to check out. OF COURSE, there was a wait and thanking me for my patience... even though I had none.

I stood in the freezing cold wind in Coney Island, Brooklyn with my mother hoping I could just process my order. As I stood there shaking from my anxiety and freezing wind I saw I was able to put the credit card in and hit the "ORDER" button. My mom was hovering over my phone as she kept saying in my ear "DID YOU GET IT?... DID YOU GET IT??!!" She could see how excited I was that I got this far, she knew the disappointment I felt during the Shane Dawson launch where I received NOTHING for waiting on Jeffree's website for 3 HOURS PLUS (no lie) to just be told everything was sold out and would not return until March of 2020.

Finally, I was able to get my hands on the boxes and got an odd confirmation sign from what I believed to be Jeffree Star Cosmetics Website. But it took me as you can see by the time on my phone, "3:01". It took no time for me to check out. Which was PURE LUCK!

I noticed many frustrated fans got the same page. Many were made to believe that this meant it went through? or was it false hope? I saw many comments on Jeffree's social media with frustrated fans waiting for a confirmation email. I figured a confirmation I know would make sense is from my bank account. I checked, and indeed money was taken out by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. That told me that I was sure it went through. As turkey day went on, I sat on sofa refreshing my email hoping I'd get a sure 10000% YES YOU GOT THE BOXES email. about two hours later I received this email.

I WAS OVERJOYED! I recieved the package on December 18, 2019. The reason for the late delivery (and post) was because Jeffree was STILL shipping out Pre-orders for Shane's palette and the smaller mystery boxes first.

I absolutely LOVE the items I got!! The white box really surprised me at the amount of GREAT stuff I got. I had no idea I would be getting Blue Blood Palette!! I actually do not have that one. That was a very very nice surprise!! I did not like the (pink) Velour Liquid Lipstick shade, SUPREME QUEEN. I am not a bright pink person... HOWEVER! You can use his lipsticks on your eyes! they are safe to use on eyes as eyeshadows! So I am looking forward to trying that in the future.

The Deluxe (red) box was incredible! The purple 5-Year Anniversary Hoodie was the first thing I saw when I opened the box. It was literally filled to the top. You could not add one more thing to this box! I really was so shocked. I really wanted a new hoodie from him and to see it in my box I was shocked because they can be a tad pricey. But the quality of his hoodies is soft and warm. I actually own all but 1 tye-dye hoodies he has in his store. They are my favorite item to wear in the cold weather. I also don't have the Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette but I am excited to own that, the eyeshadow pan size is HUGE, compared to the recent palettes he sells.. they are smaller.

I didn't love the Velour liquid lipstick shade, KARMA. It is NOT a shade I would ever use on my lips.. but perhaps I will try it on my eyelids. The Christmas shade is very red and glittery. I really like this shade... I usually don't wear red like that, but the color is so gorgeous. I am grateful for Jeffree's shades.. because he makes his fans try NEW exciting colors and shades they wouldn't normally wear. I appreciate that!

The Candycane looking reusable straw with the straw cleaner is a nice touch to the box. I like that it is not a short straw! As for the Peppermint Frost Palette (highlighter) is very cute! The only thing I didn't like was how lightweight, thin it is. Usually, his items are heavy in weight and better packaging. But this is an exclusive item.. won't be made again..so I can't complain. The best part of it.. it smells like peppermint! And it is NOT an overpowering smell like some other brands tend to have with some of their products. It is a nice smell when you open the palette.

Overall, I am grateful to have these boxes. I am excited to wear and use these items! I understand many were not as lucky as I, but trust me... there were times I usually get shut out and sold out on when I want to purchase a Jeffree item. I understand the frustration and sadness very much. I am sorry for those who tried or just could not afford these boxes. The boxes were actually a birthday gift from my mother. So, Thank you, Mom!! <3
