2/6/20 EDIT: *This blog is NOT sponsored or a PAID review. This blog post is my own opinion and experience with the items I have purchased ONLY. *

HERSHEY'S x ETUDE HOUSE
I saw this collection on Instagram and fell in the love with the idea that the theme of the collection was chocolate! I instantly thought of my late grandmother's obsession with Hershey's. She would always have a stack of bars in the fridge waiting for her after dinner. She was someone I was very close with and spent every weekend with before she died. So I really wanted this collection to be worth the money. It is always a risk of buying makeup overseas and being made overseas. I don't know what exactly is in the products... meaning if they are safe for the eyes, vegan, and animal cruelty-free ingredients. I am very for makeup that is cruelty-free! So I knew whatever was inside my package I would either keep or toss. I checked before to see if it was all these things, it was NOT.
Just in case you don't know who this company is, because I did not. They are the same company that brought you the TOM & JERRY Collab. They created a stir with many T&J fans with this collection. They not only did makeup but body products and toothbrushes! The items were aesthetically pleasing and creative. They had a cute theme to it which is a cash grab for many makeup lovers.

I have not tested or bought any of these items because I had no interest in doing so. I am also not a huge Tom & Jerry fan. I had hoped if it was anything like the Hershey's makeup formula I am sure there were a few flops in the T&J line...
The eyeshadow palettes for the Hershey's line were rather small. They were advertised on the website as mini, and that they were. In the photograph below I used a ruler to show how small these eyeshadow palettes are. Each palette measured about 3 1/2 inches in length and 2 inches wide. They are perfect for on the travel if you like the quality of the eyeshadows...

IN-DEPTH REVIEW:
The following will discuss the worst and best items from this haul. There are always hits and misses for ANY makeup line/collab. Sometimes the payoff in eyeshadow shades is great depending on the skin tone of the person using the makeup or just the formula itself. I found that the issues were BOTH. Keep in mind Asian makeup is usually targeted to lighter skin tones. I am NOT a light skin tone so the lighter shades were either transparent on me, or exactly my skin tone. Whereas, if it was used on a much lighter skin tone it would probably be shown a lot more.
WORST ITEMS
Hershey's Cookies N' Cream Eyeshadow Palette
This palette just wasn't for me. I hated the matte shades they took like 10 times swatching each of the matte shades. I don't know if the matte shades were pressed too hard or what.. but it just didn't look good. I was able to get some pay off with the 2 metallic shades. The lighter of the metallic shades would swatch twice but get all over the place. The fallout was bad. The darker of the metallic shade was nice, but I don't think I would grab for it often because I have better quality palettes with that common shade. And NO, the eyeshadow palette does NOT smell like chocolate... it smells like nothing.

Hershey's Syrup Flavored Lip Gloss
This lip gloss had a heavy dose of chocolate smell. Like maybe a little overpowering for my liking. I love chocolate but to covered in it all day on my lips... no, thank you!
I think the only thing I appreciated about this product was when you would swatch or wear the gloss it went on clear. There was no real tint to it, sure it looked light brown but once applied it dried quickly and went clear. I just don't like the stickiness of the gloss. (Swatch is in the photograph below)

Hershey's Creamy Milk Chocolate Powder Rogue Tint - Hazelnut Cocoa and Almond Cocoa
These two products were so similar when swatched I don't know how they were able to create both shades like this. It just doesn't work! Not only did they look alike,
but both lip tints stained my arm when I tried to take it off. No lie, I had to use a rough scrub to take it off my arm. It just had such an unpleasant feeling. I really would NOT recommend using this on your lips. It was just like having over whipped chocolate smelling frosting on your lips that would get all over your face if you ate or drank while wearing it. Oh! and don't forget staining your face along with it. Not good.
BEST ITEMS
Hershey's Creamy Milk Chocolate Eyeshadow Palette
I was pleasantly surprised by this mini chocolate palette. The lightest pale shade (as shown in the photograph below to the left) was almost similar to my skin tone on my arm to the point where you cannot see it in the photograph without the flash. Overall, some of the mattes were nice. The metallics were very pretty which is why I would keep the palette cause as whole this mini palette is a good one to own. I like that it is small and nude shades. These are everyday shades that are good to have if you travel a lot! and NO, the shadow does not smell like chocolate. It smells like nothing which was a huge missed opportunity!

Hershey's Flavored Lip Balm in Raspberry Crème (purple blam), Cherry Cordial (pink balm), and Mint Chocolate (teal balm) flavors
These were a cute item to own. They are great to share with friends as little gifts or to throw in your own bag on the go. My favorite scent was the Raspberry Crème (purple balm) because it DIDN'T smell like chocolate. Perhaps the entire line was an overload of sweet smells that I needed a break... I am not sure. The purple balm was just a nice smell and something I will keep. They go on clear and don't leave any color. This is a good find in the Hershey's haul!

Hershey's Flavored Lip Balm
You can always use a lip blam! This lip balm doesn't really smell like anything. A faint smell of sweetness. It goes on clear and tastes like nothing. It is a cute little balm that if you enjoy the look and faint smell of sweet chocolate this item is for you.

Cookies N' Cream Makeup Brush (off white colored brush) and Creamy Milk Chocolate Makeup Brush (dark brown colored brush)
These are nice little collectors set these two brushes. I paid extra for these and I don't regret it. They are nice to have and I plan to use them. The reason I said these are best items of the haul was that they don't feel cheap. They have a good weight to them and they are good when handling them. I really like these. If they sold these separately, which they currently do not, I would buy another set. Overall, nice little addition to this collab!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The collection is definitely a cash grab! It took time to get to me, maybe a week and a half for South Korea. For $14 shipping I thought maybe it would come quicker, but I suppose customs in South Korea and in America may hold up the delay. Customs in case you are unaware, they check the products, scan it, weigh it, and make sure the item that is in the package is safe and not a threat to others or even the person receiving the package. It is for safety reasons that will get stopped no matter the size or quantity of the items you receive from overseas.

I feel the design of the items were nicely done. The packaging was a wrapper as if you were to buy a candy bar, that was a nice touch to it. The smell of some of the items was a sweet chocolatey smell. Like if you were to smell a packet of hot chocolate mix.

I cannot say that I recommend buying all of these items. If they sold them individually I would buy what was in my Best section. Otherwise, skip this collab! Save your money for better collabs! It wasn't a huge waste of money... well maybe it was. I am still debating myself on what I will keep and what I'll toss. Some things just don't seem safe to use...because it stains, smudges easily, or has a horrible stickiness to it. From a collector's perspective nice collection! From a makeup lover that just curious about if this line works and has good payoff... NO. There are always better collabs out there... sadly, Hershey's fell short here with this collab. But I'll still buy their candy!!
