"Once again, they've made me an offer I can't refuse," ... "But this is the very last time I'm doing this, which could make for a fun evening..." -Ricky Gervais (Deadline)
Host: Ricky Gervais

Gervais will be hosting this year's 76th Golden Globe Awards. Ricky Gervais is a stand-up comedian, actor, screenwriter, director, producer, musician, presenter, and author. He is best known for his creating, writing and acting of the British television series The Office.
In the award show world, he is best known to be the host that will say just about anything and anyone. No one and NOTHING is off-limits. Many who watch at the comfort of their home will watch in enjoyable laughter, while those in attendance will wait in fear they could be the butt of his next joke. Gervais has said some incredibly funny things as host in my opinion but also, has left me speechless when its all over with. You can search for his opening awards skits on YouTube. There are plenty of videos out there, but I will not be posting those links here on this blog.

Snubs & Why it matters:
This section will most likely be edited over time, please check back for more.

Best Motion Picture (Drama): Judy, Bombshell, Little Women, Avengers - End Game, and Ad Astra. Why? These following movies had big heavyweight actors starring in them. I am surprised that the films didn't get the recognition as a whole. Although, YES, the actors in SOME of these films were nominated... many were NOT. These snubs definitely sway my decision on if I want to or not sit through the films I haven't seen yet. I suppose I added Avengers because well Black Panther did extremely well in the awards world that Avengers - End Game was in my opinion, just as fantastic.

Best Director: Greta Gerwig (Little Women), Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story), LuLu Wang (The Farewell) Marielle Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood) and Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit). I suppose not EVERYONE can be nominated, but some of the films that I have seen that were nominated did not awe me as BEST Director. I suppose I am disappointed there are NO females recognized in this category. I believe Greta Gerwig should have been nominated for this category. I have not seen this film.. yet. But she did win an award for Director of Lady Bird. Which I did see and thought it was very well done for a directorial debut.
My Picks:
NOTE:
When I put "TIED" it is because I simply cannot choose. both nominees were outstanding that the winner could go either way. The category is also a tight race.
If left blank and NO bolding of words, that is because I can not make my opinion because I did not see enough of the films to vote. IT will most likely be edited later.
Best Motion Picture — Drama 1917 - TIED The Irishman - TIED Joker Marriage Story The Two Popes
Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy Dolemite Is My Name Jojo Rabbit Knives Out Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - I have not seen Jojo Rabbit so my opinion may change. Rocketman
Best Foreign — Language Motion Picture The Farewell Les Misérables Pain and Glory Parasite - I loved The Farewell, which I don't understand why it is Best Foreign when they mostly spoke English in the film.. so therefore, Parasite will win this. Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Best Limited Series or TV Movie Catch-22 Chernobyl Fosse/Verdon The Loudest Voice Unbelievable
Best Television Series — Drama Big Little Lies The Crown Killing Eve The Morning Show Succession - I may be biased here, but this was my favorite show of 2019. Season 2 was FANTASTIC! Better than the first season.
Best Comedy Series Fleabag Barry The Kominsky Method The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel The Politician
Best Motion Picture — Animated Frozen II How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World Missing Link Toy Story 4 The Lion King - It was beautifully done.
Best Director — Motion Picture Bong Joon-ho, Parasite - TIED Sam Mendes, 1917 - TIED Todd Phillips, Joker Martin Scorsese, The Irishman Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Christopher Abbott, Catch-22 Sacha Baron Cohen, The Spy Russell Crowe, The Loudest Voice Jared Harris, Chernobyl Sam Rockwell, Fosse/Verdon
Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Kaitlyn Dever, Unbelievable Joey King, The Act Helen Mirren, Catherine the Great Merritt Wever, Unbelievable Michelle Williams, Fosse/Verdon
Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited Series, or TV Movie Alan Arkin, The Kominsky Method Kieran Culkin, Succession - Again, bias and hoping he wins this! he wasn't nominated for Critics which was VERY disappointing... I hope he gets this award for his excellent work. Andrew Scott, Fleabag Stellan Skarsgård, Chernobyl Henry Winkler, Barry
Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited Series, or TV Movie Patricia Arquette, The Act Helena Bonham Carter, The Crown Toni Collette, Unbelievable Meryl Streep, Big Little Lies - She was snubbed in Critics Choice awards.. happy to see her nominated here. I believe her character really was the strongest out of all of them. Emily Watson, Chernobyl
Best Score for a Motion Picture Little Women Joker Marriage Story 1917 Motherless Brooklyn
Best Original Song “Beautiful Ghosts,” Cats - TIED, because... Taylor Swift and I am biased here. “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again,” Rocketman “Into the Unknown,” Frozen II “Spirit,” The Lion King - TIED, because... Beyonce. “Stand Up,” Harriet

Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series Christina Applegate, Dead to Me Kirsten Dunst, On Becoming a God in Central Florida Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Natasha Lyonne, Russian Doll Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fleabag - Over Rachel because she is the breakout star here for her show. Rachel has won this award countless times and I think the voters were probably more impressed by Phoebe's excellent work.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series Brian Cox, Succession - Again, bias. Kit Harington, Game of Thrones Rami Malek, Mr. Robot Tobias Menzies, The Crown Billy Porter, Pose
Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series Jennifer Aniston, The Morning Show Jodie Comer, Killing Eve Olivia Colman, The Crown - She is an award favorite because she won an Oscar last year... And this role was done spectacularly. Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies Reese Witherspoon, The Morning Show
Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture Tom Hanks, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Anthony Hopkins, The Two Popes Al Pacino, The Irishman Joe Pesci, The Irishman - When I think Irishman, I think Pesci. For me, he brought that movie together. He was the glue for these characters, the middle man. His performance was outstanding. Brad Pitt, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Best Screenplay Marriage Story - What a relatable story for so many couples! This really captivates the audience the moment the movie begins. Beautiful work! Parasite The Two Popes Once Upon a Time in Hollywood The Irishman
Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Kathy Bates, Richard Jewell Annette Bening, The Report Laura Dern, Marriage Story Jennifer Lopez, Hustlers Margot Robbie, Bombshell

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama Cynthia Erivo, Harriet Scarlett Johansson, Marriage Story Saoirse Ronan, Little Women Charlize Theron, Bombshell Renée Zellweger, Judy
