Snubs & Why it matters:

This section will be edited a few times, as more media outlets report on more snubs!

Kieran Culkin (Succession - HBO)

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Kieran Culkin for Succession (HBO) - Why? This was one of the best shows of 2019 and it had to mostly with my favorite character, Roman Roy, played by Kieran Culkin (Yes, Home Alone Star's, Macaulay Culkin's younger brother). His character could be considered as the trouble maker, and one who in public acts like he doesn't care for anyone in the family or the world but himself. But deep down inside he cares and tries so hard for people to respect him and take him seriously. He is the strong glue to the story of Succession, killing off his character would lose the unpredictable insanity this show brings. Its a damn shame he wasn't recognized!

  • Best Comedy Series: Veep - Why? because it is the last season! a.k.a the last time it is eligible to be nominated for critics. I have watched this show before and say the comedy humor in the show is very well done. The acting is great and the characters are wonderful. I am sad that this wasn't given the recognition as past show endings have gotten for their finale series, i.e, Mad Men, which was ending and ended up being nominated and winning a bunch of awards...

  • Best Drama Series: Big Little Lies - Why? It had Meryl F*ING STREEP! She was fantastic on the show. She brought this season to life! This final season was actually very good, (there are no reports it will be coming back for another season) Which is why I'm confused it didn't get its final recognition like VEEP. But perhaps, there were others more worthy. hm?

  • Best Director in Motion Picture: The Farewell - Why? well, it was nominated for other categories (rightly so!) But this film for me, or for anyone who has ever been close to their grandparents or have had a special attachment to someone older, can really understand this movie. I fell for the characters and bonds this family shared with one another. It really was so well done, I am so disappointed to see this wasn't given Best Director! It really captivated a special relationship between granddaughter and grandparent. I loved it and still do!

  • Best Director in Motion Picture: Joker - Why? If you have seen, similar to Dark Knight, both of these jokers have been untouchable. They are so different, but I bring them up because without the direction from the director the actor will not know where to go and how to adapt to the particular scene. I feel this Joker by Jawuin Pheonix really grasped this psychological feeling that made watching the film incredibly uncomfortable. But since they are coming out with Joker 2, maybe that one will do better?

  • Best Talk Show: Ellen - Why? It is usually nominated... but I wonder if The Kelly Clarkson show kicked it off the list. I am rather curious as to why Ellen wasn't nominated this year...

My Picks:

My picks are based on movies and t.v. shows I HAVE SEEN or based on popularity/critics reviews to win. Otherwise, I will state the reason why I choose that as my pick.

MY PICKS ARE COMING SOON... I HAVE NOT SEEN ALL THE FILMS/TELEVISION SHOWS THAT WERE NOMINATED. I WILL BE REPOSTING/EDIT THIS SECTION SOON!!!!
