The Critics Choice for some time have been the awards show that predicts who will likely be nominated and win the top prize of an Oscar. Usually, those who win Critics, go on to be high contenders for an Academy Award. Last year, The Shape of Water took two awards, Best Picture and Best Director. Furthermore, the Critics Choice Awards have been known to predict 14 Best Picture awards, 18 Best Director, 16 Best Actor, 13 Best Actress, 13 supporting Actor and 16 Supporting Actress awards. (According to GoldDerby, who write about predictions on Hollywood nominations)
I love the critics choice because it brings together two things I love most, television and film. Most of who are nominated are not nominated for favoritism, but because the films and television are well done and the critics have deemed them the best of the best of 2018.

My Predictions
I have seen most of the films and television that are nominated for this years critics. I will usually see all films that are nominated for best picture. Therefore, the following lists are for who I FEEL could win. My predictions are also based on critic reviews, comments and most importantly, my opinion of the film/actors/television.
*If i placed an OR in some categories it is because I have not seen ALL that are nominated, I narrowed it down by reviews or only the one I have seen I believe could win.
I would like to mention, I know the film, The Favourite was nominated for a few awards, I have NOT seen this film yet. I know the critics have called it an excellent film, but I still stand by my predictions. The same goes for The BlacKkKlansman, I did see this film but I don't believe it will get the recognition many think it will.

Snubs:
There you have it! Another award show, more nominees, and MORE snubs!
Here below are some snubs that caught my attention from this years Critics Choice (2019):
WIDOWS: for- Best Director, Steve McQueen, Best Lead Actress, Viola Davis. McQueen has directed some great films, yes, for me Widows wasn't great.. but it should have recognized for good work. So to not see his name was a shocker. Same goes for Viola Davis, this wasn't her best role, BUT! as mentioned for my previous post on Golden Globes, you can read HERE. Viola Davis was AGAIN, missing in action for the incredible job she did in the film, Widows.
THE MULE: for - Best Director, Clint Eastwood, Best Lead Actor, Clint Eastwood. I'm starting to wonder if people are getting sick of Eastwood. He may not be producing the best films recently. But the film he did on 15:17 to Paris (2018), released earlier this year wasn't highly praised as many thought it had too many religious and political touches to it. The Mule looked rather interesting, I am surprised that he wasn't nominated for anything. I also believe The Mule may be Eastwood's last film for acting...though, hasn't he said that before?
VICE: for Best Supporting Actor, Sam Rockwell. Rockwell for me is an incredible actor! His acting in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) was fantastic. He won awards for his excellent acting in that film. However, though he was not nominated for critics this year, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his supporting role in VICE... interesting. I wonder if this means NO Oscar Nomination?
MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS: for Best Actress, Saoirse Ronan, and Best Supporting Actress, Margot Robbie. Both ladies were nominated for a Golden Globe but not for critics...yet again, I wonder... will they be nominated for an Oscar? I love historical films, especially ones about queens and royalties. I am a huge stickler for keeping film and television to what really happened in history. I hear excellent praise for this film.. shame it wasn't nominated for these two actresses.
