The 1 Minute teaser trailer of AFTER:

The description on the Official Teaser video is described as:

"AFTER follows Tessa (Josephine Langford), a dedicated student, dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend to her high school sweetheart, as she enters her first semester in college. Armed with grand ambitions for her future, her guarded world opens up when she meets the dark and mysterious Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), a magnetic, brooding rebel who makes her question all she thought she knew about herself and what she wants out of life."

The OFFICIAL 2 minute Trailer of AFTER:

The Book that inspired the film:

The description from Anna Todd's official website of the book, After:

There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there’s everything AFTER … Life will never be the same. #Hessa Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way. But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to. But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before. He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper. Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her? Unless…could this be love?

AFTER, Film Actors:

Some of the actors below auditioned for other roles in the films. This happens more than we think! Here are some I found....

  • Shane Temmel (who plays Jace), auditioned for Zed AND Landon. - I honestly don't see that working... I love him for Jace. I think it was a great choice. Excited to see his bad boy, rude streak come to life!

  • The moment Anna Todd saw Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (who plays Hardin), she knew he was supposed to be in the movie. She got the same feeling for the actor Shane (Jace).

  • Inanna (who plays Molly), auditioned for Molly AND Steph.

  • Pia Mia (who plays Tristan), auditioned for different characters - but did not go into further details as to which characters they were. I can only speculate and think it was for Tessa, Molly and/or Steph. I think it is an interesting twist to making the character Steph and Tristan a lesbian relationship (or bi - I haven't seen them confirm what type of relationship it is). I think in today's world it is probably more acceptable than it probably was when Anna Todd wrote the book and character Tristan.

The Cast:

(There are probably a few more cast members! I just added some of them.)

Side Note 1: I don't know how many of my readers are The OC fans, but I was JUMPING FOR JOY when I heard Peter Gallagher was set to play Hardin's father, Ken! I honestly thought HOW PERFECT IS THAT! I loved him as Seth's dad on The OC and I CANNOT wait to see him as Ken!! Bravo to the AFTER casting team!

Side Note 2: I did not want to advertise this because she is her own person and deserves her own time to shine. When they casted Josephine Langford I thought that it was the lead girl from 13 Reasons Why show on Netflix.... it's not. That is her SISTER! I honestly had to do a double take, because I had no idea Katherine had a sister.

(Josephine is on the LEFT, and her sister, Katherine is on the RIGHT.)

AFTER Book Vs Film:

There are some differences already shown in the trailers, still and even told to the fans on AFTER social media fan accounts. If you know of any other differences that were NOT mentioned, leave a comment below and let me know what they are.

  • The Character, TRISTAN - Tristan is It was the first change I noticed was in the books Tristan is a male, and in the film she is female, played by singer, Pia Mia. She address the question that a fan asked her on twitter.

  • The Ending of the Film - On January 18th, 2019, Anna Todd did an interview with International Business Times, (NOTE: This interview was done BEFORE the announcement of who was going to play Hardin) where she was asked "How the movie will be different from the book?". She answered,

"The end is different of the first movie than the first book. It kind of brings in some of the second book, but also a new element that I was like, ‘Oh, I should have thought of that.’ But I loved it and I approved of every change..."

The second movie, "After WE Collided," has YET to be confirmed when shooting will begin. The only confirmation has been that the same cast will be back for the next movie. You can read the full interview here.

  • Combing 1 scene in the book into 2 scenes in the movie: (from same interview)

"There are some differences in the script, just because everything can’t be included. So there were two scenes combined, but mostly, pretty much every big scene that the readers really love, which with fanfic (short for fanfiction, which is when someone creates a fictional story stemming from a character, person or story they’re a fan of) crowd..."
  • Hardin's look:

Many fans were quick to message Anna Todd on the differences spotted on the character Hardin, compared to the book. The first difference was the tattoos, some were not there, some were. The second, the piercings, he has none in the film.

I myself, was a little disappointed that he did not have the LOOK of Hardin in my head. I know some fans left comments feeling the same way. But understanding how the films worked for the TWILIGHT series and the differences and changes of the main characters and how drastically they were changed from the second movie and on... makes sense. Sometimes books turning into films do have these huge differences in the first film.. however, they are often corrected and changed by the next films.

Anna Todd's response: "The Tattoos were very difficult because they should have many in their arms, which was a surprise for the makeup team." she continues, "In the next (film) this will be corrected."

  • UNKNOWN "Big Change":

Anna Todd mentioned, "There's one big change in the movie that she wished she wrote in the book." (source: @Aftersmovie - Instagram)

My thoughts on this could be maybe anything, looking at some interviews and some spoilers it could be the ending, the character Tristan, adding a new character, and/or having a minor character become one of the major characters. ?? I am really unsure as to what it could be. If someone knows and has proof of what she meant by this please leave a comment below or message me on any of my social media, twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook (@RachelRBlogs)

AFTER Merch:

I am unsure if this is OFFICIAL merch or not, meaning if the movie franchise is incharge of the items being sold. Looking at the website looks to be approved by the film, but an outside seller.

Also, the items being sold.. I believe once they are gone, I don't think they are returning. I would imagine as the film gets closer to being released more items will be available. So, fans keep your eye out on this website and subscribe to their newsletter! (scroll to the bottom of their page)

Final Thoughts:

The film is set to be released in the USA on April 12th!

I cannot wait to see this film. I have more reading to do of the other books but I am looking forward to seeing how it all ends! I will be doing a Movie Review once the film is released, so be on the lookout for that!

Thoughts on the official trailer:

Looks great to me! I don't remember them going to an Aquarium in the book but looks romantic.. i like it. The chemistry. MY OH MY. When she say to stay away from her or whatever and he steps back. OMG. I am certainly fangirling here and have no regrets about it. Also won't say any spoilers, but the film with Molly telling Tessa about what's going on. Well. I had a grin on my face. That is going to be a good scene. Apparently Anna Todd said that was one of the hardest scenes to film, made her emotional or a rather hard scene to film.

Well, it was a hard scene to READ! I can't wait!!! ...I'm gonna rewatch the trailer again now!!

Question for my readers:

Are you going to see the movie? Did you read the book? THOUGHTS? COMMENT BELOW.
