Jeffree Star recently announced his first ever collab with Morphe, entitled, Jeffree Star x Morphe. He announced on his YouTube channel (in the video below) of the two different items that will be sold in all Morphe stores and on Morphes official website on February 5th.

Here are some promotional photos included in the video that will be seen everywhere... I'm sure of it!

He looks like a barbie doll!!! Nice photos!

The P.R Box:

He sent them out friday (2/1/19) after the release of his video went live. A few influencers got them and shared them on their social medias.

The following photos were taken FROM ONLY Shane Dawson's Instagram. (@shanedawson)

The outside of the P.R Package: M x ☆

Inside the P.R Package:

Shane compared his P.R box as opening a doll house. It was a pink cardboard box that opened up to like a stage of brushes and sponges and underneath the brush bag. You can barely make out the holographic writing on the box, but it basically said what his hand written letter said, how excited he is about the launch and to see what looks like come out with.

Shane's box came with a hand written letter from Jeffree. His letter said something on the lines of:

"...my brush collection! Morphe and I have grown together throughout the years and I'm honored to be able to create something for my best friends. I'm so excited for you to create some stunning looks w/ (with) this collection!

Beauty Sponge Trio:

His face sponges, will also be released with morphe, and that is also limited edition. Here are photos of the pink sponges.

(retail: $16.00/USD)

Here is a close up of the smaller sponge:

The one on the left is after he applied water to the sponge it expanded nicely. On the right, is the size it will come in. You can clearly see the differences in before and after which I appreciated.. I will most likely buy this sponge set.

Deja Vu:

In 2016 - Jeffree star in one of his videos, shows his YouTube subscribers a early product samples of Morphe brushes he was working on. they were similar to what he has released in 2019.

2016 - Morphe Brushes Product 1 concept:

He mentioned in the beginning of his video that he did indeed had brushes in the works with Morphe but did not continue with them because, "morphe blew up, and his brand blew up" - good, blow up, like selling out products back to back -

A screen grab of his video: "Published on May 11, 2016"

2019 - Here is the 7 brushes TODAY:

(close up)

THE 7 EYE & FACE BRUSH + BRUSH BAG COLLECTION INCLUDES: (retail: $49.00/USD)

  • JS1 - Size Queen Brush

  • JS2 Point - Blank Precision Brush

  • JS3 - Iconic Contour Brush

  • JS4 - Fly High Brush

  • JS5 - Crease Kween Brush

  • JS6 - Rule Blender Brush

  • JS7 - Double Trouble Brush

  • 1 - Pink Clear Starstruck Bag

The Starstruck Bag:

Here is a close up of the bag (photo below). It is like a clear pink plastic brush bag with holographic lining around the zipper.

The brushes have drastically changed. He still kept with the concept of his signature pink, but was able to make it a chrome pink that he describes like a diamond shaped brush. Something unique and artistically appealing to the eye.

When the video was released many fans went to social media to say they have seen these types of brushes before... but from ANOTHER brand....

Here are a few examples* of other brands creating similar Jeffree Brushes:

*Please note, I am not assuming or attacking any brands or people on this list. This is simply from my OWN observations.

Wet n Wild: 10 - Piece brush set [2018 Holiday Collection]

I believe these were exclusively sold on Walgreens.com and in Walgreens stores. If you look at the bottom details you can see why people thought of this brand...

Tarte Cosmetics: "Goal Getters Contour Brush Set"

I am only focusing on the brush heads.

Ali Express: I don't even know if I would even consider these as a contender because this website is known to sell dupes, and not legit items...But these set of brushes pretty similar dupe if I've ever seen one!

These were placed on sale about 2 years ago from a random seller. It does not give a makeup company brand name, but if you click here, you will see the similarity between both, but these are gold. and have a little white on the tips.

I'm sure they were LIGHT as feather compared to Jeffrees. I just know it. Jeffree would never put out a cheaply made anything.

Here is another close up of Jeffree's handles:

Clare's: Now Clare's sells mostly cheap child's jewelry and bad quality makeup products, but if you look at this specific handle you can see how similar they are, with the color aside, look at the handle ONLY.

This one had me SHOOOOOOK. Not gonna lie.. The price is reasonable for brushes, but I AM SURE the quality is awful, one swipe on the face, or one cleaning of the brush.. it must fall apart and/or snap in half, or color peeling.

Final Thoughts:

This took me a while to figure out how to do this blog. Again, I want to mention that I am not attacking Morphe OR Jeffree when I am comparing these other brands to his brushes. I am a fan of both people/companies... but it does get me thinking.. nothing really is original anymore... It is hard to create something unique and special in today's makeup world. Perhaps, if you do create something unique and special many are ripped apart for it, or find ways to credit.

There will always be people or things that are compared to one another... same goes for makeup, there are SO many dupes that come out from cheaper brands that were taken from luxury high end brands and VICE VERSA.

I am curious --to my readers--thoughts on these copycat brushes... also.. will you be picking up Jeffree's new brush line when it comes out February 5th?
